Weekly Photo Challenge: Gone, But Not Forgotten

The Weekly Photo Challenge is Gone, But Not Forgotten.

Sometimes, I forget that there is an active volcano in our backyard. Today, Concepcion is covered with clouds…gone, but not forgotten.

IMG_5512A spectacular sunset over Lake Cocibolca…gone, but not forgotten.

A petrified Cane Toad in my path…gone, but not forgotten.

    • Thanks John and Mary. I never realized it until Don Jose died, that the mourning goes on for a year. They have 3 ressos ( I think that’s the name). They are kind of like small wakes where the loved one is remembered and everyone gathers at the house for food. Yesterday was the 22nd birthday of Julio, Don Jose’s son. It is customary that for a year after the death of a loved one, no music is played, no dancing, and no celebrating. We sang happy birthday to Julio, but we couldn’t dance or play any music at his house.

I'd love to read your ideas and thoughts below....
