“Rise above the storm and you will find the sunshine.”
― Mario Fernández
Ailsa’s travel theme is above. Looking at the world from above, I see the world through eyes without borders making it easier to rise above the storm and experience the sunshine…whether it be above…
A tiny Mexican village nestled in the mountains
The bustling metropolis of Panama City, Panama
The spectacular granite mountains of Yosemite National Park, CA
The tranquility of the Caribbean above Corn Island, Nicaragua
Soaring above the treetops on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua
Flying like a condor over mysterious Zapatera Island, Nicaragua
Peering over the red tin roofs above Granada, Nicaragua
Huffing and puffing up a ladder to a rooftop at sunrise overlooking Quito, Ecuador
Tingling with excitement above a crater lake in Ecuador
And watching planes fly into twinkling Los Angeles, CA
Fantastic choices to share. Why is Zapatera Island mysterious?
We can see Zapatera Island across the lake from our house. I wanted to kayak there once, until I found out it was 14 miles across our very choppy lake. The island has no electricity and is very isolated with a small population of indigenous people living there. Many huge ancient statues have been found there. It is a rich archeological site. I’d love to go visit, but the only way to get there is by boat.
Thanks for the explanation, Debbie. I hope you can get there some day in someone’s boat for some exploring.
fantastic photos, thanks for sharing
It is my pleasure, John and Mary.
